Countable and Uncountable |
1. Countable nouns are nouns which can be counted. The words which go withcountable nounse are: a, an, a few, many, several, some, any, plenty of, a lot of, and a large number of.
eg: 1. a book 2. an apple
3. a few pencil 4. many books 5. many boys 6. some pictures 7. any boxes 8. plenty of chairs 9. a lot of flowers 10. a large number of birds
Note The words which don't go with countable nouns are; a little and much.
2. Uncountable Nouns are nouns which cannot be counted. The words which go with uncountable nouns are: a little, much, some, any, plenty of, a lot of, a large amount of, and a great deal of.
eg 1. a litle rice 2. much water 3. any milk 4. some chalk 5. plenty of oil 6. a lot of dust 7. a large amount of flavour 8. a great deal of sugar
Note The words which don't go with uncountable nouns are: a and an.

Basic |
Nouns are the names of: poeple, animal, places and things.
Kinds: There are four kinds of nouns in English:
1. Common nouns:         * dog         * table         * man         * driver         * city.
2. Froper nouns:         - Tom         - John         - Indonesia         - Jakarta.
3. Abstract nouns:         * independence         * beauty         * joy.
4. Collective nouns:         - swarm         - team         - committee.
